YnPov:-
I walked through the halls of the cell mates. I was contacted last week by the prison to treat one specific patient. The amount of money they offered me for each session was ridiculously hard to pass up.
"You should know that this particular inmate hasn't spoken to any psychiatrist so far." The guard said.
I've always had a fascination for serial killers.
I wrote a groundbreaking essay on them in university, which is what jump-started my career.
"Stick to your job. I'll stick to mine." I said, smiling.
I've read Jungkook 's file. He had been convicted of brutally murdering thirteen women over a period of three years. But as approached his cell, I couldn't help but notice how attractive he was. He had piercing green eyes and a chiseled jawline, but his most striking feature was the scar that ran down the left side of his face, crossing over his eye.
As I entered the cell, I saw that Jungkook was in a straitjacket. He was sitting on the floor, his back against the wall, and he looked up as I approached him.
"Hello, Mr Jeon." I said politely and sat in front of him. "I'm Dr. choi, "
He sat up and stared at me.
"How are you feeling today?" I asked.
"Skip the pleasantries and ask me something that won't make me want to strangle you for being borning." He says to me with a smug look on his face.
Interesting.
"How is your new medication treating you?" 1 asked him, but he scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"I don't take it." He said.
"Why not?" I asked.
"I don't like it."
"You're required to take your medication, Jungkook. It's court ordered." I said, writing down his every response in my journal. I always do this.
"Tell me, doctor, are you one of these women who get turned on by serial killers?" He asked, smirking at me.
"No, I am not." I answered. "But is that really what you want to talk about?" I asked.
"Yes, actually." He grinned.
I took a deep breath and continued. I wasn't stressed at all. By all rights, I should be afraid of him, but I'm not. What I do want to know is his reason for killing. Everyone has an origin story, and I want to know what this is.
"Since you've been here, have you had any urges to kill anyone?" I asked.
"Only every day." He answers, still staring directly at me.
"And do you feel that way right now?" I
asked, not breaking eye contact.
"Yes." He answered in a serious and dangerous tone.
"With me?"
"Yes"
I took a deep breath again and wrote it down.
"Why did you kill those women?" I asked. I know I'm supposed to be treating him, but it's a question I've been dying to ask. All his victims were women with brown hair.
"I don't like this thing." He said as he tugged on the straitjacket and ignored my question.
"I'm sorry, but protocol says I can't remove it." I said to him,
"Don't trust me?" He asks.
"Should I trust you?" I ask in return, tilting my head slightly.
"No"
"What would you do if I freed you right now?" | ask, not realizing I was biting on my bottom
He hesitated for a second, then leaned. forward. "I'd kill you."
I kept writing in my notebook and kept talking to him.
"Would you like to talk to me about your childhood?" I asked, but he went silent.
"Were you abused?" I ask.
His facial expression changed.
"How about fitting in. Did you enjoy high school?"
"Doctor." He said with a frown still on his face.
"Yes?"
"I want to kill you."
"Hm." I said and wrote it down once more.
After our session, as soon as I walked out, the warden was waiting for me.
"Well, did it work? Did he talk to you?โWarden Lewis asked.
"Yes. He spoke to me." I answered.
"And does he trust you?" Lewis asked.
"Not yet." I replied.
"Well, when will he?"
I rolled my eyes. Why do people think psychiatrists are magicians?
"Look, it's going to take time, Lewis. He's a human being." I answered as we walked down the hallway.
"He's not. He's a monster." Lewis said bitterly.
"Look, he needs to take his meds and his not, so I suggest using injections." I said, rubbing my face.
I walked through the door of my home, exhausted from a long day. As soon as I stepped inside, I could hear my husband's raised voice coming from the living room. My heart sank 1 knew what was coming.
"Yn, where have you been? I've been waiting
for hours!" he shouted, his face twisted in anger.
"I told you I had to work late today, remember?" I replied, trying to keep my voice calm.
"Don't give me that bullshit. You're always working late. I'm sick of it," Anthony spat, taking a step towards me.
I backed away, fear gripping me. This wasn't the first time he had been violent towards me, and I knew it wouldn't be the last.
"I'm sorry if I've inconvenienced you, but I have a job to do. You knew that when you married me," I said, my voice shaking slightly.
"Your job? Your job is to take care of me and this house. You're neglecting your duties," he sneered.
I felt a lump rise in my throat. I worked so hard to get where I am now.
I straightened my shoulders and looked him in the eye.
"I'm not neglecting anything." I said firmly. "I'm doing my job, just like you do yours.โ
He glared at me, then hit me hard across the face, causing me to fall back.
"I swear to God I don't even know why I fucking married you." He spat then walked away.
I wiped the blood off my lip and stood up. I hate him so much. But what can I do? Everything is in his name.
Jungkook pov
It's been a week since I've seen the doctor. I remember every detail of her face. She had long wavy brown hair and caramel skin. She also has light grey doe eyes that strike you when the light hits them. Oh, and the sound of her voice. She must be Korean by the sound of her accent.
The doctor upsets me when she speaks. I'm just another patient. Another statistic. But sometimes, she gets that look on her face of fascination. Like she's intrigued by me instead of fear. I want her to be afraid of me. She should be but she doesn't seem to be.
I realized that since her visit, I'm no longer put in a straitjacket. Now my feet and hands are
just shackled
I am just biting my time until my men can get me out of this shit hole.
Just then, my cell door opens, and it's the doctor.
"Hello, Jungkook." She smiles.
Thank God she dropped Mr Jeon. I don't answer her, though.
"How are you feeling today?" She asks.
Again, I don't answer. I don't like bullshit questions.
"Silent treatment once again?" She asks still with a small smile.
I stare at her intensely, hoping to find just a hint of fear, but I find nothing but curiosity.
"I heard you did an IQ test. Would you like to discuss your results?" She asks me.
I give her a head tilt and a raised eyebrow. /already know my IQ.
"One hundred and forty. Impressive.โ
Hmm, last time it was one hundred and thirty-one.
I wonder how long the doctor is going to keep this up?
I looked closely and noticed a small bruise on her cheek.
Hm. I also noticed she was wearing a wedding ring the last time she was here, but not today.
She's writing in that little notebook again.
"I have something for you." She said, standing up.
If the doctor touches me, I won't be able to control myself.
She walks over to me and hands me a book.
"It's Shakespeare. I read in your file that you like poetry."
I like reading in general. Knowledge is key.
I take the book hesitantly and stare up at her. Does she even realize she's close enough for me to kill her?
"Not even a thank you?" She asks.
I continue to stare at her. I'm not crazy and I'm not sick. I know she knows what I'm doing.
"So would you like to talk to me about anything?" She asks. "Any request?"
I do have requests, but I want to see how far the doctor will go.
She smiled at me again and tucked a stray hair behind her ear. "You know, when I was contacted about this job, I read up on you, but there wasn't much information. It's like you were a ghost."
I can smell her perfume. Vanilla and cinnamon.
"I had a puppy once. Do you have any pets?"
She asks.
I can't help the smile that grows on my face. I know what she's doing. It's said that all serial killers start out by first killing animals. She's trying to find out if I started out by killing animals.
Her name was Daisy. She was a little Chihuahua. She died when I was twelve. I was devastated."
She's still trying to get information out of me.
"Did you ever lose someone or something important to you?" She asked, staring up at me with pity.
Be careful doctor. You're still in arms length.
She sighed and wrote in her journal again. The doctor smiled at me, then rolled up her sleeve and showed me a scar. "I got this while trying to ride a bike. Would you like to tell me how you got that scar?" She asked. No, I do not, doctor.
She's not like the others. She asked questions in a different way.
"Well, I see you don't feel like talking today, so I will be back next week. She says while getting up.
I pictured myself wrapping my shackles around her neck until she lost consciousness. She wrote in her journal one more time and looked back at me.
At the next session, I want to play a little game with the doctor.
"Goodbye for now, Jungkook." She said, making her way to the door.
"Doctor." I finally say, and she smiles.
"Yes."
"Would you like me to kill him?" I ask.
She knows I'm referring to whoever gave her that bruise.
"next week we can talk about your little brother. She says then leaves my cell. My face goes pale, and my blood begins to boil.
My little brother. My mother.
I was five years old when my mother began to act differently towards my little brother, Evan, and I. My father was dead, and she was all that we had. We were poor and lived in a shitty house.
Evan was only two when it first happened. I burst into my mother's room to see her holding a pillow over my little brother's face.
"No, Mama, stop it!" I screamed and managed to pull her off Evan, and luckily, he was okay. but he was crying.
"No, no, no. It's in you too." She said and grabbed me roughly.
"WAIT, MAMA, STOP! I cried.
I tried to hold onto whatever I could, but she pulled me into the bathroom and threw me into the tub of water. Before, I could think she held me down under the water, but I could hear her words.
"The demon is in you!" She cried.
I kicked my legs and waved my arms around, trying to come up for air, but she still held me down. It was only when I started to lose consciousness that she let me back up.
I coughed up water, and she pulled me out of the tub but stood over me.
"You are a demon. Just like your father." She said to me that they stormed out. Tears streamed down my face, and Evan ran into

I let out a loud roar and breathed heavily. Till next time, doctor.
